Painting and Collage

This half term, young artists will design and create their own imaginary rooms with paint and collage. Guided by a professional artist, they will paint colourful papers full of patterns and textures, then cut, arrange and layer them to create a cosy interior scene, from patterned wallpaper and rugs to furniture, plants and favourite objects. It’s a playful, hands-on session that builds creativity, confidence and an eye for colour and composition, and each child will take home their finished artwork.

Printmaking

Young artists will discover the magic of printmaking in this fun, hands-on session led by a professional artist. Using soft foam printing sheets, children will draw their own designs, pressing in lines and patterns with a pencil to create a printing block, with no cutting tools needed. They’ll then roll on colourful inks and press their designs onto paper, experimenting with different colours and layouts. It’s a perfect introduction to printmaking that builds creativity and confidence, and each child will take home their own collection of finished prints.

Lino Printing

Discover the art of lino printing in this hands-on session led by a professional artist. Students will develop their own design, learn how to carve it into lino using specialist cutting tools, then ink and print their block to create bold, graphic images. Along the way they’ll explore line, shape and contrast, and see how printmakers build striking results from a single carved block.
